Default Question for Jim about winter tires

I have an 00 Civic EX I drive on inclement days and we're about to get some here in the next 45 to 60 days

My question is are the Bridgestone WS 50 really worth $200 more a set than the Winterforce 185/65-14's for my car?

I don't plan any extra siping or studs for them and my daily commute to work is usually 5 miles one way.Ohio weather can be unpredictable with freezing sleet one day and dry fridgid the next

You would need to decide that. I can tell you that the Blizzak has the best traction of any snow tires we have tested. The Winterforce would still be a lot better than any all season tire.
If I can help let me know.

How are they in cold dry conditions? That being on a dry street in zero degree weather?

I have driven the Blizzak WS50 on a Honda Odyssey and a BMW for about 3 years and they are fine. They don't handle like my RE750 in the summer but I don't get stuck or hit anything in the winter.
The winterforce is a good tire but does not have the technology that the Blizzak has.
If I can help let me know.,
