Question with Clear coat on wheels
I'll cut right to the chase. I need to have these wheels clear coated to protect the polish lip and give the spokes a smooth finish so I can clean them easier. My questions is, is clear coat they use on wheels the same as clear coat used after a piant job? Or does the wheels need a specific type of clear?

i wouldnt clearcoat.. (well just the spokes)
clearing the lip always turns into hell w/ chips and such.. most the really nice wheel brands just leave lips raw polished... that way any knicks etc can be polished out easily.
riley.
btw i actually like the spokes the matte finish they are.. id just leave as is.

THANKS Riley. You cant see it but the spokes have a sand paper finish feel to it. Almost like 180grit around there. Cleaning them when dirty would be a PITA cause the dirt would be stuck in the grits. Thats why I wanna clear them. I dont mind leaving the lips raw polish since it'll be easier for me to clean/polish them whenever I want. I only ask cause they came cleared from factory, I just stripped it. Maybe I might leave them raw polish then....
The lip just got the mother's aluminum polish treatment. I'm gonna redo them using polishing compound and a air powered buffing wheel. They will be mirror finished when I'm done. Then I can be rolling balla style like your Works.
