RE050As have an "inside" / "outside" as has been said before rather than a directional rotation.

So to rotate you'd need to unmount and remount the tires versus just moving the entire tire+rim to the other side.

But its correct, there's no directional on the 'A's just an inside/outside.

NO!

To rotate a DIRECTIONAL tire left/right you'd have to unmount/remount the tires.

To rotate an ASYMMETRIC tire, you just exchange the entire rim/tire left to right. No unmounting/remounting, the outside is the outside and inside is inside whichever side of the car you mount the rim/tire on!

WHAT?!?!? I've never seen these tires but if there is only an inside/outside and no directional rotation, then if the tire is on the left side of the car, and you're looking at it, you can see that it is not marked directional, but is marked "outside".

If you take the same rim and tire off, put it on the right side of the car, it still says "outside", and there is still no directional marking.

You can rotate them side to side w/ out issue.

This is a contradiction

By unmounting and remounting to rotate, you'd be putting the insides on the outsides.

Zdan and EZ are right. Just move the rim from one side of the car to the other.

The original poster was confused by the idea that the same tread pattern worked non-directionally. This is true for many tires including directional tires for that matter.

Almost all non-super high performance tires work the same "backwards" as "forwards" because the dry performance elements are on the sides and the water elements are just circumferential grooves. Most of the V-shaped tread elements are vestigial at this point, and bridgestone even has them point "backwards" in the stock AP2 tire.

that is the tire if there is any confusion. The right side is the outside. Thus my confusion when I went to put it on my car and the left side was an upside-down version of this. But now I kind of understand that they are made that way. I still dont understand how they still have as much grip as normal high-performance tires though. oh well.

I have the same tires, and yes you can rotate them from left->right, and vice versa.

Is RE050A same thing as what comes stock on the AP2?

If so... do these tires have an odd shake to them when they're cold?
Every morning, I drive out from my driveway to the local roads and they(?) shake the car for a good 10 or so seconds.

I doubt it can be my car, since it's perfectly fine during any other parts of the day..

It just does it when it's been sitting overnight?
Or should I take this problem to the dealer?.. I doubt I can replicate this for em though.
