Even with the higher offsets and -2.6 deg camber up front, the tabs on the fenders have to be rolled if it is lowered much at all.

I do and always have liked the weight and look of the RPF1's, it is just a shame they designed them without consideration of lowering and wide fitments on a car that everyone runs 255's on for track or autox :P
I dont know, there are feasible ways to get around that, I run 275/315's on mine

Wheel choices are very much based on subjective things like looks.

To me, a 17x8/17x9 +45 combo looks a little goofy at stock height. The car will look like a rollerskate. Not sure if you've seen a stock height car with semi agressive wheels. Again...you may not see an issue, and how it looks in your eyes matters the most.

That being said, RPF1's are a great option.

For tyres, Bridgestone S04's in those sizes will be more advantageous overall than PS2's.

You won't be able to use them in winter, BTW.

I'd get some higher offset wheels man. PF01s would be great.

Be nice if the Rpf1 came in a 17x9 +55 offset. And with the concave face

car would look funny if you're not going to lower it, it will tuck out.
