Default Project Kics R26

I was leaning on getting these along with some new wheels
What is everyone's take on them? First hand experience? Just wanted to know before I buy

I know they are open ended & prone to rust but I'm sure Plasti-dipping the studs after install will fix that
I have read on the forum that someone mentioned they broke, but maybe from overtorquing?

If these lug nuts aren't good, then which do you recommend?
Thanks

I've had em for a while, I like how the rotating lip doesn't harm the wheel when bolting them on but to be honest you could get the same thing for far less. They are pretty durable though, I've probably installed/removed them several dozen times over and they look great. My last set of Volks "Duraluminum" stuff looked beatup after 6 months or so.

I just found these Mcgard spline drive lugnuts
Were you talking about these?
They look like they have the same rotating feature that I want

I have had the r26s for about three years and have removed the a dozen or so times ( never with an impact gun) and they still look new. I really like the spinning lip thing. Overall, I really like them, but if I had to buy them again I probably wouldn't. When I bought mine, there was a vendor on here that sold them for 150 shipped, since then, the price has gone up.

I have these.... removed them about 6 times or so and no issues thus far. Quite pricey but they do look good and seem durable too.

I'm surprised at how little you guys removed the wheels. I've probably removed my wheels 30 times in the last few months just adjusting my suspension or doing other various maintenance.

I have a set of the longer ones. Impacted them off an and on hundreds of times w/o problems to the seat. Two things I don't like about them:
1) they rust thru the center. Applying some anti-seize helps reduce it but if you park outdoors and/or drive in the rain, the inners start to match our uncoated hub centers (a good idea to hit that up with some black paint).

2) if you run extended studs (in my case ARP) they bind. With hand tools or impact, it will take you 3x as long to pull one lug off. PITA which is why I changed out to Muteki (non swivel seat).

I have my set pulled off if you want to check out the rust and condition of the swivel seats

IMO, with the shorter ones you might not run into the binding issue I had. The rusting will happen. Hope this helps you in your decision making

I ended up getting these McGard Spline Drive lug nuts part number 65357BK
Made in USA an they have the same spinning base feature as the Project Kics but are closed ended so no rusting
best of all I got a 4 pack for $13 bucks each so all 20 lugs cost me $65 bucks!
