Jim,
I canceled my order. Your prices are good, and the products are wonderful. I just resented being lied to. (not by you)

I ordered my tires a month ago, and one of the items wasn't in, but I was told that I'd be notified and told how and where to pick up my tires.
A month later, I got on line and used the "tracking" site, and noticed that all of my items were in.
Time isn't the issue. There is no rush, so I didn't really care how long it took.
When I called the 800 number to find out how I go about picking up the tires, the lady told me that the reason that it took so long was because my credit hadn't been approved.
I told her that I was using a credit card, and she told me that it didn't matter, because "there are people out there who use stolen credit cards",,, yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah.
I told her that I just bought a $500,000 house, and closed escrow in 3 weeks,,,, a whole week less than it took to OK my credit, just to buy 4 tires& wheels. Just then, some how my credit was JUST approved.
I told her that I didn't appreciate her coming up with BS to appease me, that the reason that it took so long, was because THE PRODUCT WAS OUT OF STOCK! Then I asked her if it would have been just as easy to tell me the truth rather than to make this $hit up. She said, "Yeah,,, probably."
She told me that my tires were ready and that I can go pick them up.
Well, when I went to the warehouse to pick up my tires, Guess what,,,, They wouldn't be ready till next week.

I went to Discount Tire Warehouse.

I can't believe someone working for TireRack did/said such things to hide the truth. Sorry to hear about your disapointment. I've bought tires from them before and had been very satisfied with the service, though your story really just pisses me off. Why not tell the truth, you know? Anyway, hope you are happy with your new tires from Discount Tire. Drive safe.

Jim,
I'm sure this is not common practice in TireRack, but shouldn't your company be aware of such practices by its employees?

You should have called me. Not that I could have done anything but I would have tried. I don't know what happened with your order so I can't comment. It obviously is not company policy to lie to someone. We try to make everything right everytime but sometimes it just doesn't happen.
I am sorry it happened and if I know I will try to help as much as I can.

I've had nothing but wonderful service from tire rack. I bought a set of pirelli's a year ago and a set of s02's this year. Each and everytime they were delivered on time and without mistake. Tirerack has some of the best prices around and I HIGHLY recommend them. Another nice feature is the customer satisfaction emails that they send you after your purchase.

I have dealt with few companies with such great customer service.

That is wonderful that you are happy with Tire Rack, and I'm sure that you will continue to use them.
I however, don't like being lied to, and I won't be using tire rack. I took my business to Discount Tire. I am fortunate to have both warehouses right here in town, and they are only a few miles from each other. I was treated great by Discount Tires, and they beat Tire Racks price by a nice margin.

I've spoken with "Jim" and he truly seems like an outstanding person. If it weren't for the lady (biting tounge) with the canned answers, I would probably buy tires from him for all of my cars. I was so pissed when she fed me her line, that I sent an email to everyone at work and told them which tire store I recommend and why.
