Default Potenza sport vs Extremecontact sport

does anyone have experience with any of these tires? I’m looking to replace my Michelin pilot super sports. I wanted to pick up the pilot sport 4s but they are back ordered everywhere. Thanks for your help

I haven't tracked my car, but I've been very happy with the ExtremeContact Sports on my AP1 and on my Fit (I had initially wanted the MPSS, but they aren't made in the sizes I needed).
I've never really found myself surprised on the road, including in the wet. The times I did find the tail drifting wide, it wasn't too difficult to get it back (and I'm not a particularly good driver).
These are supposed to compete with the prior Pilot Super Sport tires, so I imagine they'd be at least as good as the PSS (probably not as good as the newer PS4s though).
It's a side consideration, but Contis come with 12 months (or 2/32nd) road hazard coverage as well (useful if you live in a place with potholes or heavy construction - I've made use of it once so far).

Any thoughts on the Potenza Sports? Mine lost any semblance of grip in a month

I have them on my AP1 since three months and i love them. Better compared to the previous Michelin PS4. Feels better, better damping, steering, grip.... i have more confidence in the Potenza Sport when driving the car hard.
Will buy them again.

In what application: street, track, autocross?

I have Potenza Sports in 245 all around and i love them. I've had several different 200TW tires as well as Pilot Supersports in the past. These are quiet and grippy enough for spirited street driving.
Many people opt for Michelin 4S, but many people have pointed out that the sidewalls are not stiff enough for our cars.

thanks for reply! Ive driven them, and unfortunately the oem front size 215/45/17 have a softer sidewall than the rears!! Which sucks if you like a sharp turn in. I have seriously no idea why Bridgestone made the 245/40/17 with a stiffer sidewall than the 215/45! Both sizes have 91 load and Y speed index and the 215 even say XL extra load. Very dissapointed myself with this. Raising pressure seems to have little effect. In hot weather 25-30 celcius degrees makes the sidewalls even softer.
What is a max pressure I can run in the fronts cold or hot for good grip? I started with 2.4 (35) cold and it went to about 2.8 hot (about 40).
