Update:
I checked my tires today and found that after about 20,000 miles the rear tires are now down to the wear markers. So these tires lasted me about that long. The fronts are still in very good shape. It looks like the ratio is 1 front pair to 3 rear pair

I have been thinking of getting SO3s but after reading numerous posts about its treadwear, I decided to look for other tires.
F1 GSD-3 was not available in 245/45/16 in the rear so I had to look for another choice.
Today, I placed my order for Potenza RE750 for my S2000.
225/50/16 front
245/45/16 rear
I will give you guys update on how it handles. My major concern was decent dry handling and excellent wet handling. Ofcourse treadwear was one of my main concern.
The tire looks good on the paper. But we will see. I am keeping my fingers cross.

Thanks for the update. Since I last posted about the tires, I've put about 7000 miles on the tires. My tires are wearing quite well also, and I drive hard occasionally. The fronts seem to be hardly wearing at all (I got 205's, not 225) so I'm very happy with the life. As for the grip, they grip nowhere near as well as the S02s, but for freeway/everyday driving, they are great and very smooth.

Actually I think there are JDM tires (not available here) that are much superior to the s02s. Supposedly they are stickier, better on the wet, and have great treadwear. Only problem is those tires are much more expensive.
