Thumbs up Potenza RE-01R vs. Falken Azenis RT-615

I was trying to figure out which of these would be the better canyon carver? This tire won't see track time, so the high temperatures of lap-after-lap track abuse won't be a concern. But I would like to have a tire with SOME tread life as well. I can find both of these tires at comparable prices for the sizes i'm looking for....Soooooo which is the better gripping tire? and Which is the longer lasting tire? (i know neither of these are really meant to last forever)

The RE01R is one of the two best performing street tires on the market, with the other being the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec. The RE01R will offer better grip dry and a lot better grip wet than the RT-615 will, and it should last a little longer. I'm not sure which tire has the stiffer sidewall though.

I'd go with the RE01Rs personally.

I agree. But I would go with Z1 Star Spec over RE-01R. They're cheaper if not any grippier.

I have owned both.

RE-01Rs grip better in the wet as well as the dry. They have lasted longer than the RT-615s also.

You pay more for the Rs but you also get more life out of them. Looks like it about levels out. RE-01Rs

i have the rt615s and i think they are worse then the OEM RE050. i can only imagine the re01r is an upgrade from the re050's.

i auto x my evo on RE01R's and there the shit. i USed to have Advan Neova Ad07's on my car prior which are suppsoed to be an upgrade from the Stock advan's that come on the car and i like the aDVANS BETTER but the yoko's do come a lil wider and have a stiffer side wall.I'm on Toyo T1R's on my s2000 right now but ima deff go with the advans for my next set.

I have never used the star spec or the RE-010 and i love to try but they are out of my price range. I have used the 615 and i find them to be a great tire esspacially for the price and much better then the RE-050. I really enjoy the Falken tires but like i said i have never used the others.
