Please help. Wheel spacers, bolts...
Becoming seriously frustrated.
So due to the Spoon calipers I needed spacers in December. Ended up buying 20 mm spacers with extended bolts.
Had them fitted on, one of the major issues was the spacers weren't hub centric, rear ones were fine, front not. When driving above speeds of 100km/h, there is vibration from the front end.
Also wheels are slightly outside the wheel arches, which is not a train smash as I can get the fenders rolled out.
Back to present. Thought of buying new H & R wheel spacers that are 15mm and hub centric but then I have another issue. Please see pics below. When I place the 20 mm spacer on the hub, the original bolts stick out about 2mm. Issue is if I get 15mm spacers, original stock bolts could stick out +-7mm. On the stock S2k wheels it's fine (see pic) as there is space for the stock bolts to protrude, on my Volks (see pic) hardly any space.
What options do I have? Can I machine out space into the Volks to accommodate the space needed?
Please help
Thanks

so the problem is that the wheel studs stick out too far? it looks as though the nuts you have on there also stick past the spacer?
if it were just the studs i would just cut them shorter.
sorry misread your post.
if you get smaller spacers they usually come with extended studs instead of bolting on like the 20mm+ ones do. you'd have to get your stock studs replaced.

Is that a pic of your spacer? If so, it looks like it has a hubcentric mounting surface. You might try running a hubcentric ring to fill the gap between the wheel and hub to perfectly center the wheel.
As stated above, your best option with a 15mm spacer would be extended studs. This presents another headache though as I believe you have to replace the bearings if you pull apart the hub to install the longer studs.

Thanks for input guys. Oredered the 15mm wheel spacer from Ebay. Extended studs already built in, so plug and play. Will shave the stock stud as I do not intend to sell the car...ever

those are the same as what he is using. the part where the spacer and nut bolt onto the oem stud has the oem stud protruding into the aftermarket rims he has. unless the rim has the recesses like in the pic, he'll have to trim the oem stud portion down so they dont poke against the wheel.
OP- buy the spacers with the built in studs from the seller "options select" on ebay. his are great quality, front and rear sizes available, 75 shipped per pair, and the studs can be trimmed and the nuts wont protrude. i am currently running them all the ay around the car with oem ap2 v1 rims.

In his original post he stated that the lug nuts also stuck out about 2mm on his 20mm spacers and he was comcerned that the 15mm spacer would leave the lug nuts protruding about 7mm from the 15mm spacer. The link I provided uses a proprietary design for the lug nuts so that all that would need to be shaved down are the studs themselves. I've been trying to find some reviews for those spacers from someone who has used them to no avail. I am aware that other companies use shallower lug nuts as well these just happen to be a unique design. I'll check out those eBay spacers as I am also looking for a set of 15mm spacers.
