PF01SS Squared Setup
#21
Nice Now keep it out of the ditches and just go with a staggered tire. Non stag rims are popular, especially ones that fit the stock fenders, so resale might be slightly better on those. You can run a 225 or 235 on a 9" or just go with the 8" 225 set up. Cant lose either way. The 9 +60 will look less sunk in up front then the 8 +60 if appearances matter to you.

They will be stretched, how much will depend on the tire brand/type you go with. See if you can find some pics.

I am in the same exact boat as you!!! I am pretty set on the PF01 (since the TC105n have been discontinued), but unsure about square or staggered. I am currently leaning with stagger because I do spirit drive in some hills and Id hate to go over the cliff. Looks wise, I am wondering if square looks better though... Still undecided ATM

I had a 255/255 square set-up, with Z2s, but I bought the set like that. I did rub up front, but I was fairly low. If I kept the wheels, I think I would've gone with a 245/255 stagger the next time I bought tires.

Do you think the 245 would be enough not to rub with stock fenders?

I think it would've been for me; never got to try it before selling though. YMMV

17x9+60 to +64 are sizes used to meet the rules of the STR Solo II class. That is done with 255/40 square, but with over 3° of negative camber. On the OEM +55 front rims, the 255 has problems.
245 is used on the OEM front wheel with about 1.9° negative camber, and they can fit on 17x9 rim. However, 9" is wide for a tire with 8.3" tread width.
Good news? 245/40-17 is the biggest 17" size for the Michelin P4S. In the end, the selection of tire will matter more than 10mm +/- in size. The P4S is far and away the best street (street, not track days, not autocross) tires. They will make the car handle better and ride better. I'd use them in OEM 215/245 on OEM 7"/8.5" rims before going big on a random tire.
Note the 255 does race the car a bit (I'm on 225/255 RE71r for Solo II) which might not be a bad thing if you scrape on some driveways.

Did you consider going to 18" rims? There is a much better tire selection available and the wheels have more clearance for aftermarket brakes. The downside: shorter tire sidewalls are more likely to lead to bent rims over potholes.
