did you have any swaying problems with the car after going with this size tire in the rear? Eversince I replaced my rears with some toyo t1r in the larger size tire for the rears, my car has been swaying side to side in the rear.
Some people say its the different brand of tires, but I don't think that would cause it to be this bad. I also heard that the larger size tire could be causing the problem.
Did I go wrong by going larger than the stock size?

The stock tires (S-02's) are discontinued in Belgium and when asking for a 245 on the stock rim's the tire-shop and honda dealer warned me that the car could get the problem you described.
I will be following this tread to see what the experiences are
I now went for the S-02's in 225/50R16 porsche spec because I prefer sharper handling over absolute grip and have relatively new S-02's in front and don't want to mix tires. Later today I will get my car back from the dealer. I am curious how much grip will be left.

I got Bridgestone RE750's in the 245/45/16 size installed about 600 miles ago and do not experience the "swaying" you describe. The car handles awesome and it's quiet. I replaced all fours -- original owner put on some cheap-ass Fuzion's. The Fuzion's had 90% of its thread left!

245/45-16 is the correct size.
You said you replaced the rears with T1-Rs, did you replace just the rears?
If you have T1-Rs on the back and S-02s on the front I would assume the car feel a tad loose because I don't see the T1-R as being as grippy as the S-02.
If you have T1-Rs on all 4 corners, I suspect you are just experiencing a tire that does not have the grip of the S-02s.

The original 225/50-16 S02 (which measures wider at the tread than most 225s) was designed for a 6 -8" rim.
Most 245/45-16 tires are designed for a 7.5" to 9" rim.
So basically, though you're getting the same "tread width" vs original S02's in getting non-OEM 245/45-16s, you are getting a tire designed for a wider rim.
I don't think the 245/45-16 size is any more "correct" than non-OEM 225/50-16s, and perhaps it is less so.
