Default Painting rear axle nut

After a 2+ month wait, I finally got my Work Emotion CR Kais. Unfortunately the RS-R lugs are on backorder

Anyways, since these rims do not come with center caps, I plan on removing the rust from the wheel hubs and painting them black. I've done a search on the forums and it seems like this is a popular option.

My questions is whether or not I can paint the rear axle nut. I haven't found any threads on this. I find it's a bit of an eye sore and draws attention away from the rims.

Spend the 5$ and buy new ones to paint would be my suggestion. Your local auto parts store should have some.

Get a small can of Rustoleum flat black paint and a small sponge paint brush.

Do the axle nut mod/tightening before you paint it (if not already done). If your rims aren't black, consider painting it the rim color to avoid the black hole look.

Thanks guys I will look into all the suggestions. Rims are matte gunmetal. I'll see if they have a gunmetal colour if not black should be ok since the rims are fairly dark.

Nice job, that looks like it was meant to be that way! Very OEM looking.

I actually got the paint off a friend but I will take a picture of it tomorrow so you can try to find it.
