Yeah you got me all motivated, btw did your gun sound like something was loose where the fan is? After putting on the second coat my gun just crapped out.

nope, iv had mine almost 2 years now and havent had any problem with it, doesnt sound like anything is loose. Im not really sure what happened to yours, you might have to take it apart and check the insides out.

Few questions, did you just use paint stripper for the old paint so that you had a smooth surface? Also, did you just use one of those small ovens to bake the wheel? I am guessing you did this in a well ventilated area? Lastly. how hard was it to unseal and reseal the lips onto the barrel of the wheels?

I was going to use paint stripper but after researching on the net its ok to coat over the original, just as long as it can withstand 400 degrees. But nothing is smoother than just coating over raw metal.

I used my actual home/kitchen oven, it was big enough to barely fit my lip.(The oven is NEVER used only the stove top)

My kitchen has 2 sliding door and huge windows on either side so there was adequate ventialtion.

To unseal was a bitch, my fingers were aching from cutting with a razor blade, so much seal. To seal i just got sealer and a cocking gun and applied it to where the face, lip., and barrel meet.

It is ALOT of work and time but worth it for me. I have 2 wheels done and mounted and only have to PC two wheels tomorrow and im done with that department.
