Original OEM tires, worth keeping/selling?
#11
Old tires are not (or shouldn't be) desirable by anyone. I would consider original tires on a low-mileage car to be a negative since it would be my responsibility to replace them regardless of what my intention was with the car. I would consider it irresponsible to leave on or sell old tires to someone for any reason if the intention was to mount them on a car.

Best tire threads compete with best engine oil threads for the number of posts. Since none of us can really test these our experiences and recommendations are based on tiny samples -- but that doesn't stop us from posting.
1. Tire technology in 2022 has improved since 2007 and I'm convinced that ANY modern summer tire will work well for spirited road use on the S2000. The differences are in the details -- some real, some cosmetic, and some emotional. Extreme performance tires (top tier) are noisy, wear quickly, and handle poorly in the rain. Max performance tires (2d tier) are quieter, wear longer, and handle rain better. Ultra performance (3d tier) have much longer tread life and can ride better. Yes, All Seasons will also work.
2. Cosmetic differences play a part -- some tread patterns just look better -- more performance looking, whatever that is -- than others. And 255mm width rear tires look great in the parking lot too (they came on the CR). Don't forget brand name bias. Mediocre performance experience with "over rated" Michelin tires many years ago still colors my tire choices. I'm a Bridgestone guy but can't explain why, it just is.
3. I wore out a set of extreme Dunlops in 2004, replaced them with Bridgestone extreme RE11A which were discontinued when they needed replacement in 2006 (tread life, remember?), went with Bridgestone S04 tires (merely Max rated) and didn't notice any difference the past 6 years. These are, of course now discontinued so I'm looking at max rated Protenza Sport but they're not available in 255mm width...see paragraph 2.
