The reason you are hearing different things about rubbing is that they are all running different brand tires.

The 255 size isn't an absolute size it is more of a suggestion. You will find as much as a 2" variance in actual width in the same size. Some of the narrower brands have even quit publishing tread width specs.

With an 8" wide rear tire (narrower than stock) I rubbed at 54 offset.

With a 10.2" wide rear tire I rubbed the same way with a 63 offset. The rubbing was only the attachment point of the the inner liner to the fender which can be modified to make your tires clear.

There are way too many variables to say one offset works or doesn't work or to say one size works and another doesn't.

What tires do you intend to run with those rims? That's the key. Find someone with the same tire and see what they have to say

According to Bridgestone For a 9" with wheel you should run 245

For a 17x8 and 17x9 which are the best?

I was thinking in:

225/45/17 Front
245/40/17 Rear

are this enough rubber for 300WHP?

thanks

for 17x9, you can run 275/40's
for 17x8, you can run 245/40's

it's probably a better idea too if you're running that much hp..
