I have heard some different stories about storing tires over the winter months. The autcross guys have always told me to store R compounds indoors at all costs but what about summer tires like star specs and RE-01R? Will the compound harden up over the frigid winter months if stored under blankets in a shed? I dont really have room indoors and will have to rent some space, but it is worth it if I am going to wreck my tires. Oppinions?

Your tires should be fine outside in your shed. Most people leave their car outside all winter.

Just keep them out of the elements and off the cement floor.

So does this mean that if these tires are driven on all winter long will they be degraded by the time summer comes no matter the thread left?
