Default Offsets schmoffsets, I want my wheels!

Ok I hate to bring another "will this work" thread in, so I'm going at it from a different angle. Here's the size of the wheels I'm looking at:

17x7.5" +35 Front
17x8" +38 Rear

I know that according to the Wheel Fitment Guide this setup will have rubbing - I'm planning on running high negative camber and rolling the fenders to adjust for this.

My question is that I don't know if the offset is enough to clear the brakes/suspension components, and I would not want to mess with this. Also, I've never actually experienced "rubbing" on a car due to wheel sizing, how severe would it be with this setup? Thanks!

Before every one says this set up wont work Im running almost this same exact set up with a 245 tire in the back and 215 in the front and lowered with rolled fenders... and I hardly rub at all.... And i think you should have no problem running a big break set up.. Just know the camber is gonna be needed to run this if you lower your car.

fronts for sure will stick out quite a bit rub no matter what, if not fender bending. rears would fit with a really agressive alignment and narrow tires

Iew, why would you want your wheels to stick out like that? The only people I ever see doing that is the KeWL LeEt kiddies with their VW Jettas and their pants around their ankles. With the alignment settings you'd need to get it on their you'll eat tires faster than you can buy them.

Next you'll want a giant aluminum wing.

Kayvan's car doesn't look bad, but it still wouldn't be my first choice.

Stock height you would be ok but if your going to lower it I would go with a different setup.

17x7.5 +43 and up at a minimum. You can get away with Spoon offsets 16x7 +35 but thats a 7 inch wide wheel not 7.5.

17x8-9.5 and I would stay above +42 in the rear so you can lower your car a little and still run a 245 rear tire (on the 17x8.0 rear wheel).

Thanks for the feeback Kayvan_pour, I think the car looks good and it would look great with a widebody kit!

I think this is a lot of extra headache for a set of rims though, I'm gonna go a different route. Thanks guys!

205/55/16 front tires with OEM fenders on the Spoon wheels which is stock sizing and you can lower the car 1 inch or leave it stock and your good to go. I had this exact setup for a year. When you go lower, even with a mild degree of camber you will rub.

205 for the 17s as well. Its narrow but will work. You can also go with OEM AP2 front tires and with a 1 inch drop your fine too.
