Oem front AP2 tire size recommendation; 215 or 225
Hi!
I'm new to the S so still learning about it with OEM setup. Need a pair of front. I'm seeing ppl runing either 215/45/17 and 225/45/17. Any difference from those who'd tried? (tire brand and quality aside).
Thanks

get matching brand/type front and rear. the sizes is really up to your preference. i've only ran 215/255 and 215/245... and i prefer 215/245 because it has less understeer... i haven't tried 225/255, but i would assume, it might be similar to 215/245... if anything, less understeer, as the ratio of increase in greater in the front than the back....
that said... you can either switch it up to try new things out to see how it affects how the car drive if you feel confident about your ability to control the car, or you could stick with what you're used to and maintain consistency in vehicle dynamics.

Speaking of better tires (unless it's your DD):
Star specs, re11a, ad08, rivals > pss
jm2c.

I recently tracked the 500+ hp FD on PSS at VIR, then on StarSpecs at NHMS. Neither were anything like capable of putting the power down, I was under/oversteering all over the place on both. The difference between the two at the track is damn near negligible compared to the difference between them and serious R-comps anyway.
For most of the people who use this forum, PSS are going to be a better bet. Tremendous dry grip for a street tire, plus way more hydroplaning resistance (esp. past half life) vs. the Extreme Perfs.
