noob here, stretched tire?

I thunk the Cyber Evo is running a 285 tire on a 10.5" wheel. I also think that may be the width restriction for their Time Attack. Not sure why they run that wheel width, but maybe they value responsiveness.

I'll allow that looks are subjective. But it's down right stupid to do it because it's a safety hazard. Was the tire designed to do that? Nope. Think safety is compromised? Yup.
Ive talked to some tire engineers and most are unconcerned simply stating that you reduce ride quality and can if you have improper suspension settings run out of grip in a corner very quickly.

Ok, I was wrong. That picture was from a Time Attack a year or two ago when they were running a 265/35/18 tire on a 10.5" wheel because "their engineers decided it was the best size to run". However, this last year, one of their main competitors Sierra Sierra decided they would run a 295/30/18 tire. Suddenly, the whole stretched tire thing didn't look so good, so Cyber EVO ALSO UPPED to a 295/30/18 size in a special Advan R compound. So there, please stop using that Cyber Evo picture for "evidence" that a stretched tire is better

Just had read that article and thought it was interesting. If you read the bottom part, the point is performance wise it is better to have too wide a wheel, than too wide a tire.
Given that AP1s came with 205s on the front and 225s on the rear, going with those size tires on AP2 rims wouldn't be the end of the world for performance, and still give him the look he desires.
That the S2000 is such a versatile car and can fit so many different roles is part of what makes the S2000 so great.
