Can i get 8k out of the rears with normal/spirited driving? The car is not my primary car so it will not be driven everyday. Probably 3-4 times a week. Any input?

I would definitely not use them in the rain. I live in California, i would only take it out on sunny days.

Yes you can. But are you willing to spend that much $$$ to drive it on these CA roads? I'd buy them for track use only.

I just started to daily drive my NT-01 ....

However I am try not to heat them in my 2.4 miles commute to work.
Very good excuse to ask friends to drive.

Shift under 3k rpm and early brake for the win (slow).

So you run r-comps on the street and shift<3k and early brake?

if you're rolling on the tires...it heats up....the heat cycling will be slower if you don't build as much heat into them but they're still 'slowly' aging on ya

. Eventually you will heat cycle them too much.

Do the NT01s heat cycle? I remember reading that the Toyo RA1s don't heat cycle so they can be driven on daily without detriment.
