Would it be a bad idea? Yes. But it wouldn't be your first since you bought XXR's. The 215 tire all around would be a much worse and more dangerous idea than buying cheapo wheels.

 

the xxr's were to good of a deal to pass on for just 250$ (second hand), plus i just cant make sense of spending 2 grand on wheels for such a small weight difference

 

Lol yeah since all you get it a little weight savings. Forget quality and strength. Also I love that the only options are cheap knock offs or $2000+ wheels. Plenty of wheels in that range. Anyways but the right sized tires for the car or your $15000 car could be ruined by your heaping out on wheels and tires.

That is fine. However, do not take short cuts on size/compound/etc when it comes to tires. Spend the money and get a good tire in proper sizes, which as already mentioned are 215/40 front and 245/35 (or 255/35) rear.
