new tires, stock rims
i just got my 1st S2k (03) a few days ago, after reading some of the threads on here about tire size i checked mine. right now i have Bridgestone Potenza G009 225/50/16 on all four rims, i understand this isn't right so i'm looking to replace them. since this is going to be my daily driver and i don't plan on tracking just yet. i'm looking for some good all season tires. after looking around on Tire rack it seems the Avon tech M550 a/s have the highest rating. has anyone used them?
the way tire rack size the tires for a 03 s2000 is 205/55/16 front, and 225/50/16 rear, i belive i saw somewhere on here that the rear should be 245/45/16. so when ordering tires should i just ask for 245/45/16 rears and not 225/50/16?

If you plan to get all season for wet road handling, it is not the right reason because summer tires can handle the wet condition better than all season tires if temperature is above 50* F and after the tires had warm up to operating temperature.

[QUOTE=TR-S2K,Apr 22 2006, 10:51 AM]May I ask why do you like all season ? Does it can get down to below 40* F where you live and this is your only car ?

It is very few, if any, all-season in size 245/45R16. If your place has very little snow and you are planning to drive your S with all season tires in winter, then you should stay with 225/50R16 rear. This size would get you more traction on light snow and icy roads.
For summer tires, you will have more choices in size 245/45R16 for the rear. Avon Tech M500 is one of the best summer tire that costs less than $100 for 245/45R16
