Default New Tires

I am trying to see what members recommend as an equal or better replacement for the Potenza SO2's.
My 2000 S2000 is all stock and I love the tires but not the tread life. What a grip on these tires!
Any feedback would help. Tried Sumitomo tires once and was not happy. $650.00 out the door. Thanks
in advance for the help.

The general favorite around the forum is the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec. Great tires for summer driving, but I found their wet grip was a little lacking (others might disagree, but my streets get pretty slick). Some people have also suggested that the Star Specs are getting to be more expensive and a great alternative to them is the Hankook RS3 - I've never tried them, though. The Yokahama S.Drive are also really good tires that are a little better for general "all-purpose" for the S2000. Again, lots of grip, but a little better in the rain. I've also used the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2. GREAT grip - but it's a little loud for daily driving.

Try searching around and reading tirerack.com - a great site for purchasing and reading reviews. There's also a tirerack rep that posts regularly here - Jim - who can help you out with anything, don't be afraid to call him if you need anything, he's extremely helpful.

It really depends on what you're looking for. For an all around daily driving tire, my vote is the S.Drive - extremely reasonable price for the performance.

Take a look at the Conti Extreme Contact DW at 116.00 front and 117.00 rear. In a recent test they out performed the Michelin PS2. They won't be quite as good as the Dunlop but they are going to wear better and have better wet traction.
If I can help let me know.
