New Bridgestones! RE-71R
#141
I did some spirited driving down at the dragon. Not once towards the end of my runs did these tires break loose like last year with the re11a. But even that was towards the end of the day with 200+ miles at 90 degrees. These re71r tires are not as good in the rain, but they're still able if u must. They are louder as well. Great tire. Back in stock May 1st. 70.00 rebate ends April 31. Whoever buys before that will still get the rebate even though they don't have the tires yet. 740.00 shipped

How much noisier are they? The similar tread D2SS was among the noisiest.

These tires are stupid sticky. I've never driven on them, but I rode with Bob Endicott to get a feel for them and I don't think I heard any sort of squeal from them. Dry grip is just immense. On top of that, you can use your hand to touch the hot compound and find it to stick almost like a Hoosier...

I currently have AD08 tires (235/40-17 front; 255/40-17 rear) on wheels that are 8" and 9" wide front to back. Do you think I could run 245/40-17 on 8" wheel (lowered at 13" drop with 3.2 camber upfront) without any issues? I'm thinking yes I can. Advise/thoughts?
Here are the comparative specs:
AD08 - 235/40-17
Tread width 9.1"
Section width 9.6"
Overall diameter 24.3"
RE71R - 245/40-17
Tread width 8.6"
Section width 9.8"
Overall diameter 24.7"
Here are the comparative specs:
AD08 - 235/40-17
Tread width 9.1"
Section width 9.6"
Overall diameter 24.3"
RE71R - 245/40-17
Tread width 8.6"
Section width 9.8"
Overall diameter 24.7"
