The tire doesn't look stretched but I can see it rounds over on the corner causing the actual contact patch to be more narrow than other tires.
According to tirerack the treadwidth for the size you got should measure 8.6".... care to verify that with a measuring tape?

So have you driven on them yet, interested in hearing you thoughts on the tire.

It looks like Tire Rack is running a promotion for $70 mail in rebate for any Bridgestone tires, including the newly released RE-71R. The rebate form says limit 2 per household, so I'm guessing you can buy two sets of RE-71R (8 tires total) for those hardcore track junkies.
Rebate starts today Mar 15 and will end April 30. Plenty of time to make your move

I was going to get the RE11As...nearly got them last fall but decided to wait to the spring.
It looks like they ride and handle well. There is a Focus ST review and the say the shoulder wear is reduced. The general report is that these get race tire sticky right away and throw rocks all over the place. I had a set of A008R Yokohamas maybe 28 years ago (on an original MR-2) and the rocks were a problem both for the paint and the noise. I can only imagine how they are on the occasional dirt road or unpaved parking lot; the parking lot is probably a lot like pulling into an unpaved paddock. It can't be worse than Bridgehampton used to be.
Has someone run them on an S2k yet?

I had these mounted on Tuesday, don't even get me started on that. Mounted and took Mrs. jones out for a cruise. With the tire label sticker glue still seeping off the tires they reacted very harsh on the road. Rocks were heard hitting everywhere. After a few miles that had diminished drastically. On the highway these didn't seem any louder than the re-11's or 11a's. They definitely feel stickier than them also. I'm really happy with the overall tire and am so pleased with the look. They look as good as the re070. Unfortunately I will have some experience in driving in the rain next week when I head to Fontana. I'll keep y'all posted. So far,

That is great to hear. My only concern would be the noise as my car is a daily. The RE-11A are excellent for me in noise, traction(wet and dry), and life. I may upgrade now when the rears finally get to the wear bars.
