Default Need new tires, shredded old ones

After 13.5K miles, I noticed that my stock rear Potenza S02's are nearly worn down completely. I've had some difficulty locating a shop that carries the S02's and was looking at the Potenza S03's and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S for all four tires. After doing some fruitless online research, I wanted to come to the experts... i.e. the posters on this board. My questions:

1) What are the major differences between the S02's and S03's?

1a) If I go with the S03's, do I get the 245/45/16 size (not sure of exact #'s for size) for the rears and 205/55/16 for the front?

2) How do the Michelin Pilots compare with both of the Potenza tires?

2a) Would I need to get the 245... size for the rears in Michelin as well?

I liked the S02 tires, but I thought they wore out rather quickly. I'm not looking for any extra grip, wet traction, off-roading (kidding!) capabilities for the tires. I just want to get a tire that will be safe and effective on and won't mess up the mechanics of my vehicle.

Thanks for all the help! What would I do without this board?

The S02 would be the tire I would recommend because you are only replacing two tires. The car will handle the best with matched tires on all four corners.
The advantage of the S03 is better wet traction and the size to go with is the 245/45R16 and 205/55R16 front. I do not think the Pilot would be a good choice on the car. Especially if you are only doing two tires.
If I can help let me know.

Thanks Jim, I appreciate the help. I think I'll go with the S03's since I found pretty good rates on them locally. They won't screw up the balance of the car or anything like that, will they?

Go with the 245/45R16. What price did you find?

I was able to get the S03's from Costco, fronts for 160 apiece, and rears for 200 apiece, including installing, mounting, and service. 205/55/ZR16 in front and 245/45/ZR16 in rear. It was easier for me to do it that way, and I need the tires ASAP. Thanks again for all your help!
