Default Need New Tires on my '04 S2000

Ok, i love the OEM tires, but they are too damn expensive... What is a good alternative tire for the '04 rims, that will perhaps last a little longer?

I found a set of Dunlop FM901's for $80 for front, and $100 for rear Each.

Are those tires any good?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Those tires look pretty good for an inexpensive summer tire... but at a 200 tread wear rating, they'll still wear quite fast (which is true for any sticky tire).

You'll be sacrificing quite a bit of performance by going to a tire like that, but they're of course a lot cheaper.

edit - for a more affordable tire, a lot of people like the Kumho MX. It's actually a hell of a tire for a pretty decent price.

I know what you mean, I have the OEMs on my 04 right now and love them too. My 98 Integra Type R came with Bridgestones as well (RE010s I think), they were also VERY fun. But they were too expensive to keep replacing too. I had the Yokohama AVS ES100s on my Type R and loved them. Very sticky and stiff sidewall for the price. Very good in the wet as well. They should be around $90 - $100 each.

Not a good tire at all from what I've been told. If you want a good "do everything" tire, look at the Yokohama ES100 or Kumho MX.

Actually, I had those exact tires on my civic for almost 2 years. When I traded it in to get my S, the tread still looked great! I was worried about the tread life too, but they never seemed to wear down at all! I was very impressed.

Also want to add that my front tires are fine.. Will my car drive weird by only replacing two tires at a time?

Yes, but it's a Civic. My brother runs Toyo T1-S on his Mazda3. They still look brand new after over 10,000 miles of usage.

The S2000 wears out it's rear tires quite fast. Even my winter tires wear out every two seasons generally.
