Default Need input from people with Toyo T1-S

I recently replaced my severley worn T1-S's with another set.

Catch is previously I had T1-s's and was running 205/55 on front and 225/50 on the rears. I used about 34psi all round. The car handled fine.

After some resrearch I opted for 245/45 on the rear this time round. Tire pressures are 36psi all round. The car feels very unstable under heavy brakes and even going moderately hard around corners the car gently floats into oversteer without any provocation. The oversteer is very controllable though.

What am I doing wrong?

Is it tire pressures? or do I maybe need an alignment?

I am about to finish up an S2000 standard set (1 set of fronts and 2 sets of rears) of Proxies T1-S with about 17000 miles. I probably have about 3K left before I need a new set of 4. Anyway...on to your question. I have been running about 33PSI all around for most of the time I have had them. They are softer than the S02's and raising the tire pressure does nothing to help, so I basically just learned to deal with it. I loved the tires, by the way. They are GREAT in the rain and IMHO close in performance to the S02 once you get used to the mushier turn-in and tail waggy rear end from the softer sidewalls. They just cost too damn much and don't last any longer the the S02's.

Thanks for the reply.

By this do you mean 205/55 on front and 225/50 on rear?

I have also noticed that sidewalls are softer, but it doesn't really bother me.
I agree with you that they don't last much longer than S02's but over here they are significantly cheaper. Like 2/3 of the price of S02's.

Anyways looks like I might try dropping the pressures.

I stand corrected...I don't have "standard sizes". They are 205/55 and 245/45. As for price, I wish I could have found them as cheap as you can. I paid more for them than I would have for S02's. Hence my hint of dissappointment in there overall value.
