Default Need help with this whole tire thing!

Okay you guys are probably all going to get mad at me and stuff for not reading the sticky about wheel fitment but i did and it doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me.

I have an AP2 and i want to get new wheels that are 18's instead of 17's

If i get the same offset from the stock wheels will i still be okay with the new 18's or is there something that i should change?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my mental barrier from being able to understand wheel fitment!

18s are fine. you just have to get lower profile tires in order to retain the same overall diameter of the 17s with tires.
for example if you were running 225/45/17 you would go to 225/40/18 on the new wheels. the overall diameter is within 3mm.
you have to do the math for different widths/heights but want to find something that is as close as possible to the original diameter.
this helps: http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

before you spend money on your 18's, look in "the gallery" thread and see all the different kinds of wheels and tires everyone is running. i don't want you to look back and regret for going stock sizes in 18's since our cars have so much more potential in a better stance. i have 17x9 +45 square(front/rear) with 255/40/17 tires. i had to do a fender roll but nothing major.

heres my stance(flushness)

Sexy^^^^ And yes, don't stick with OEM Offset, do a little fender work, and get a nice stance. Above is exactly what I want but I will be doing 18x8.5 +45 all around. Hey, Yon really long name, what are you lowered with?
