Default need help on tire size

ok guys, i need to get some new tires for my S2000. i have Work Emotions and i want to run a 215/45/17 in the front and i WANTED to run a 245/40/17 in the rear. HOWEVER, im ordering either Falken Azenis RT 615's or Yokohama Advan ao48's. neither tire is made in a 245/40/17 size. the only sizes they have close to that are a 245/45/17 and a 235/40/17. i dont want to run a 235 in the rear because it is far too narrow. so my question is will running 45 profiles in the front AND back be okay? im looking at it from a performance aspect, not a visual aspect. i know the tire will one inch taller than my current 245/40/17 setup in the rear, but will running 45 profiles in the front and rear opposed to the 45/40 front rear combo hurt my performance?

any help would be greatly appreciated and asap as im looking to order the tires tomorrow through discount tire.

Why not get the popular size Azenis in the rear. . .255/40/17?

i cant squeeze 255's under my fenders without rubbing. i am very low and i want to keep it that way. i dont even have a finger width gap. a 255 tire is a bit too wide for my car at this time. so thats why im curious as to if a 215/45/17 and a 245/45/17 will work efficiently.

any help is appreciated

The 45 Series in the rear is not going to work. It is too tall and will throw off the anti lock brakes, speedometer and odometer. I would say pick a different tire or you would have to make the 255/40R17 fit. Take a look at the Bridgestone RE01R.
If I can help let me know.

ok then im definitely sticking with a 40 profile tire. would a 255 tire be overstretched if it was on a 8 inch wide wheel? i could probably make the 255 work, even if i had to roll my fenders. but from a performance point of view, would having a 255 tire on a 8 inch wheel be too much and not get the most performance out of the tire?

If your worried, just a tad more camber in the rear should fix any rubbing
