Need E-mark number from rear tires
Hi All,
I am quite confused about the stock tires being 225/50/16 and the replacements needing to be 245/45R16 on the rear axle.
On all tires there should be an ECE approval mark.
The marking looks like a capital E with a number behind it, within a circle, and behind that another number.
Most likely something like " E4 0212345 " or " E13 021234 "
With that number I can try to pull the official test reports on the tires and see what the real official measurements are (the real section width and contact area) and put some of my confusion to sleep.
So can anybody help me to the those E-mark numbers from the:
- OEM Potenza S-02 (225/50R16) ...........?
- aftermarket Potenza S-02 (245/45R16) ...........?
- aftermarket Potenza S-03 (245/45R16) ...........?
Of course, I have the OEMs on my car, but I can't check until tomorrow and I would like to pull some paperwork asap.
Thanks a bunch!
Peter

Hi Schatten,
Thanks for that link; I haven't seen that info before!
However, I am still missing the info on the S-02 Pole Position tires, compaired to the S-02 OEM ones.
Maybe with the E-numbers I can get some more interesting information such as temperature info and friction coefficients etc.
Anybody that can do me that favor?
Regards,
Siepel
