Need advice - In general are S-02 front/rear tread life ratio, 2 to 1 ?
First of all, are there better performing "maximum performance" tires for the S2000 other than the S-02s?
If not, then I have a question regarding my existing S-02s. I have around 12.5k miles of use on my stock S-02s and the rears have a little amount of tread left (certainly not dangerously low as in some pics I've seen) and the fronts actually have a respectable amount left. It seems that at right around 15k would my rears need switching. The question is, do I need to replace the fronts as well at that time or can I just do the rears? I know that at the minimum, side to side pairs have to be changed at the same time, but I'm not sure of front to back pairs. And is it true that in general, the fronts last about twice as long as the rears? Thanks.

For all intents and purposes, yes. Yes, the rears can be replaced and the fronts left alone. No, there really isn't a better gripping street tire for the stock application, IMO. Yes, I got the use of 2 sets of rears before needing to switch out the front. Had I not run an overly aggressive alignment for about 5k miles during that stretch, the front probably would have lasted another 5k.
