My Wheel (almost) Fell off while driving
Rough night last night....
My wheel (front passenger side) lost 4 lugs on a left turn last night; leaving the wheel attached by one lug!!!!!
Any Ideas on how this could have happened. I had winter tires mounted by 'just tires' about 1-2K miles ago but nothing strange has happened since.
This ever happend to anyone? WHY did it happen? and if any one knows....WHY ME?

did someone mount them for you or did you put them on?
this usually happens when someone bolts on the wheel and tightens each bolt in a circular pattern - as opposed to a star pattern. the wheel itself will be lodged at an angle and pressure on one lug will lock the wheel into a position on the hub that is NOT flush. so, when you drive (I'm surprised you got anywhere), the one lug will still be on there, and the others will rattle their way off.
Check here on Tire Rack's site for an explaination of how wheels should be mounted:

I'm very surprised you didn't mess up the hub.

i can almost guarantee you that it was sabotage.. rarely does 4 lugs fall off like that,

if no damage was done, and you are only missing four lugs, just go out and buy some lugs. if the wheel did fall off, well... there might be rotor damage there, and body scraping, and ... who knows.

well the total damage is lugs and the screws and a bent beyond repair front rim. that they are attached to were pulled right off the rotor.
no rotor damage.
they quoted me
(470.01 for a wheel!!!!!!!)
535.05 for all the parts(includes the wheel)
127.50 for the labor
707.19 with tax
no rotor damage.

I'm sure there was much added stress to the one lug that was still bolted on. it does sound like sabotage.
if you want to claim it on your insurance, well... not sure what it would be under and it really depends on your deductable.
I'm sure the tire is still good, right? and the wheel, the rotor, the rest of the hardware can be obtained from Trevor Allen at www.handa-accessories.com for MUCH MUCH cheaper prices than the ones you've been quoted. I would get the parts through Trevor, and do the work myself or have a local shop do the work. The work isn't that difficult and isn't that specialized to the S2000.
