mixing tires front and rear
I have four RS2s on my car and while the rears wore down to nothing after 15K miles, the fronts are still in good shape. I'm loathe to get the same tires again because they just wore out too damn fast, I was thinking of going with ZR1s. Since they still have life left I'd prefer to keep my front RS2s and just change the rears--but what kind of issues might I expect having RS2s in the front and ZR1s in the rear?

To mix the tires you can end up with some unpredictable handling at the limits. It would not hurt the car to run mixed tires but they can bite you when you need them the most.

Thanks... how is the treadlife on the ZR1 compared to the RS2? I'm a normal-to-spirited driver, lots of freeway miles mixed in with the occasional rip through a canyon road. My RS2's lasted about 15K.
If the ZR1s aren't significantly longer lasting, I might just go with the RS2's again.

I have the stock RE050 on my fronts and RE01Rs on the rear. Regular drivin isnt bad, but one thing i did notice was that the fronts sometimes will break free before the rears do which gives me a little bit of understeer I didnt have before. It isnt too bad, but it was enough for me to notice it. Im not sure if that is because my rears are new and my fronts have about 70-75% tread left or if the rears are just a better tire than the fronts. I suspect is is the latter though since there is still quite a bit of tread left on my fronts.
