I have two 225/50/16 Bridgestone re001 tyres which I am thinking of putting on my front AP1 rims.

Which is the correct rear tyre to match the stagger in my case?

245 or 255? or even 265?

After searching I heard 265 can work on AP1 rear rims..

What is the sensible tyre width for the rear to keep the same stagger, as I don't want to buy stiffer sway bars, etc...

Any help would be appreciated

 

245/45. . .if you start going much bigger than that you might start to experience some rubbing. Autocrossers really only ever used the 265 becuase thats all Kumho made but because of the width of the wheel, the actual contact patch between 245 and 265 isnt all that different.

 

There really isn't anything wider than a 245/45R16 available. If you want wider you need to go to 17" or 18" wheels.

 

245-45/225-50 is your best bet.

It is extremely rare for you to find a 255 in a 16. Very.

 

I was thinking of running 4 AP1 rears (16x7.5) with 225/50 up front and 245/45 in back, but it seems like 245 might be too wide for a good fit?

 

A 245/45 fits fine on a 16x7.5" wheel. Lots of people run this setup.
