lugs worth it? light wight?
so i went to a local performance shop today. they had the buddy club lugs and a few others in the shop. felt them all the buddy clubs were without a doubt the lightes felt lke i was holding a little piece of plastic.
but now my question is they were $200 for all 20. is it really worth it to spend that kind of money on light weight lugs? it doesn't seem so in my opinion unless its a full race car. the only real thing is your getting some neat looking lugs for $200.

The Rays lugs are only 140 and they look pretty good. There is another company called kyougen or something like that. They sell colored light weight lugs for about 60.

The effect on acceleration is negligible, as the rotating mass is inconsequential - fifferent tire makes and tread wear would have a much greater effect, as they are on the outer edge of the circle.
The effect on handling is negligible, as the ratio of the total unsprung weight to the total unsprung weight reduced by the lugs is tiny.
In racing, where tiny fractions over 100 laps can make a difference, and where cost/benefit is measured in tiny increments, it might make sense.
For street driving, I think you do it for looks, or else you are bored, or you have very deep pockets, or all of the above.
