First off, you would be wise to do both- roll your fender and relocate the tab. Its easy. First, unscrew the screw and save it for use a bit later. Next dremmel or cut out the tab. I actually went ahead and cut out more of the material so that I would have even more room for wheel and tire. This is a good idea, because the more room you have, the better. And you would probably be surprised at how little can make such a big deal.
Next, you drill a small hole in a similar location about five inches towards the rear of the car. Just draw a line with your mind of the wheel/tire travel, and make sure the new location is out of the way. After drilling a small hole, go ahead and use you old screw in the new location. Again, I recommend rolling the fender, relocating the tab and screw, and maybe even cutting some of the material out of there too.
I would recommend this before anything else as it is easy and cheaply done.

Good info here.
OK - what about 255s on 17x9 +45 in the front? Has anyone done this on stock fenders? What does it take to make it work?

I'm running 265 +55 on the rear with zero fender modification, it rubs a bit on the plastic inner lining when going over big bumps, however I'm not sure what my camber degree is. Obviously the offset isn't aggressive but this should help with ideas.

Im running a 255 on a 9.5 +44. Aggressive, but it fit's like a glove. Although, i do have a good amount of negative camber in the back and also i am rolled w/ a relocated bumper tab. SO far soo good but i haven't driven it hard yet with this set up. Its close though. Very.
