Lower with 18 " OZ Superl Wheels
Any members out there with 18 inch OZ Superlegerra wheels who have lowered their cars. If so, any rubbing problems. I would like to lower mine 1 to 1.25 inches, but before I invest in coilovers, I would like to make sure i'm not creating a major headache. Maybe I should return the OZ's to TireRack in exchange for a better fit. Any suggestions?

I have 18" OZ Superlegs. lowered with KG/mm DR21 Race springs and do not have any rubbing/scratching problems! My offsets are +45 front/+55 rear.
Here's a couple pics to give you an idea of how much lower the car is with the KG/mm DR21 springs and how it looks with 18" OZ Superlegs:

Thanks. How much is it lowered? I would like to go about 1.25". I'm guessing from the photo that you are about there. Did you have to adjust the camber on the front or rear?

Yup -- you'll have to re-align the car after you lower it, but I would wait approx. 2 weeks to ensure the car has settled before you re-align.
I've posted my alignment settings in a different thread -- try a search, but if you can't find it, let me know and I'll try to dig them up again.

If you drive in US JUST FORGET IT! I lowered 1 inch with Eibach and I am rubbing all the time. Local NorCal roads... great canyons but you here it at every turn. Unless you drive like a pussy cat.
I think all these lowerings are meant either for German roads or for racetracks without sharp turns...
I guess huge conribution with rubbing has the wrong tire size on the front. 225/40 on 7 inch wheel is way too wide. I rub only slightly and only one joint is rubbed. Too bad Tirerack recommended these tires. I need 215/35 for the front which should be ok. I guess I will ask Jim for some favour since they messed up.

Shamu, thanks for your reply. Where can I get the KG/nn DR21 springs? Do they work OK with the OEM shocks, or did you change those also? How is the ride as a comuter as this is my year round drive. Sorry for all the questions. Anyone else have suggestions for a 1.25 drop?

One thing I should clarify is that roads in Vancouver are fairly "tame" -- I'm not sure how the roads are in your neck of the words, and this maybe why you are rubbing.
Also, what springs are you using?
