I've heard nothing but bad things from local members about those

They like the tread wear, but traction is worse than the Kumho 712's in the dry - however - the wet traction is good. If you're like most S2000 owners you probably prefer dry traction over anything else.....you can always lay off the gas when it rains.

Hey, I just ordered the 712's. I did not know they are not good. Dry traction rated the same as the ASX's. We don't have snow here. Oh, well. Hey, did I not talk to you about my "horsepower" ?

Yes - I'm everywhere

The "New Posts" button is my best S2Ki friend. The 712's are a decent tire for the money - I know a few people who ride on them and like them......it is all a matter of what suits your needs.

I've had a set on my rears for about 18k miles now. I got about 12K out of my OEM. They still look good, but I've had a few problems. There is a reasonible loss in performance, but the do hold up. Being in So Cali, I don't know how they do in the snow or rain. They are great everyday driving tires for me, but you'll have to decide for yourself. I did have a heat ring problem from merging onto an interstate with uneven pavement (think I pinched it), but the tire was replaced and doing just fine now.

Probably best to call the Tirerack: www.tirerack.com and ask for Jim - I haven't dealt with stockers in a loooong time, but I have a feeling there is an answer somewhere in the Wheels and Tires forum......may take you a little time to find it though.

Well, speaking of the 712's, I am afraid by not having the OEM tire, I am going to lose that "car wrapped around me feeling with complete control, as if it is a part of me" feeling. I hope not. Gives me great confidence in my driving ability. :burnrubr

My first snow with the ASX and I'll say they're not bad at all they grab ok. I was careful with them and the snow wasn't thick maybe about half inch to an full inch but I was able to drive and park with little to no slippage. To give some feedback on threadwear I can't only have 3k on them but they look as good as new, wet traction is good and dry traction is just fine... I guess I made up for any loss in grip with bigger tires. my setup is for 17" te37 225F and 255R

You've had those ASX's on the track? How long have you had them on? I ask because I want to know how well they grip in warmer weather.

Thanks
