Have Kumho 712s in 225-50-16 in front with not tread left.. need a replacement but kumho doesn't make this tire anymore.

Any suggestions keeping in mind that i still have 40% left on my fronts?

Kumho brought out the SPT to replace the 712's. SPT's are said to be a much better tire.

Yep, I had 712's on my Miata and hated them. Put SPT's on and found they were better in the dry and awesome in the wet! OK for autocross (stock tire class, obviously).

I've got Hankook Ventus Rs2's on my S. They were fine when new but the rears are well into the wearbars now and it sure made autocrossing in the rain "interesting"!

yeah the SPTs are a much better tire than the 712s. its a good tire for the price.

The SPT is the most similar tire and did take the place of the 712's. They don't have as aggressive tread pattern but they do handle better.
