Default Is it just me?

So I am starting to make my to-do list for my spring maintenance on the s2k. One of the things on that list is a set of new tires for the rear. As we are aware the correct size being 245/45/16 when running non-oem spec tires.

I put a new set of RE760 sports on the front not too long ago and now I am posed with the task of locating replacements for the rear only to find that not only does Tirerack not stock any Bridgestone tires in our replacement size but the 760 sport no longer comes in a 16. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Also worth mentioning that I had RE750's on all around last time and I went RE760 on the front since those were the first to go. Now I'm looking for the matching rears (RE760's) but no dice.

Then please correct me, I've been running that size in the rear the last 5 years I've owned the car.

That is fine, but as you are finding out there aren't many high end performance tires available in that size anymore. A 225/50 Bridgestone RE-11 or Dunlop Star Spec will have more grip than most if not all tires available in 245/45.

Again, please see the "Let's LOSE the "Correct Rear Tire Size" stickie" thread.

Just get RE760s in 225/50-16 for the rear, you'll be FINE.

B'stone RE-11, Dunlop StarSpec, Yokohama AD08 in 225/50-16 will have more grip than *ANY* of the approximately three or so 245/45-16 street tires available.
