Jim: Opinion on Shaving S-02's?
My front S-02's are getting down to the wear bars and are showing signs of heat cycling. So, I think it's time to replace them.
I have about 2,500 miles on the rears with 3 track days (HPDE stuff - not competition). The tread appears to be wearing well on the rears, but I have some 'chunking' in the center of them.
Since I plan on two more track days this year, would I get better wear on the track and a better 'matching' of front and rear traction if I have the new S-02's shaved?

I really wouldn't I think if you are going to go through all of that you would be better off with some R compound tires. Shaving them would cause the tires to lean a little less in corners and they would not carry as much heat.
I guess it really wouldn't hurt though.
