Default Jim: Ever get any orders for both shaving and heat cycling?

Would that be somewhat redundant or beneficial each in their own way? Thanks.

Prolene, I think it depends on the tire. Shaving the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups is worth 0.5sec, heat cycling another .1 to .2 for autox, according to Michelin. See the FAQ here.

Thanks, Mike. That is an excellent and informative link which I have subsequently bookmarked.

Heat cycling will also make the tires last longer. If it is for track or driving schools some tires like the Kumho really need to be shaved because they get too hot and blister if you don't.
The Pilot Sport Cup the shaving is not needed but if you are out to win you should.

I'm on my 3rd set of Kumho V700s and I haven't experienced any blistering. These are unshaved tires that I heat cycle myself before hard use. Maybe I don't drive hard enough .

That's a very informative link Mike - thanks.
