Hey Jim,

Is there a 245/45 16 available in the star spec? Looks like just the AP1 OEM sizes available.

I got my set but didnt mount them yet... anyone comment on wet grip as compare to RE01s or similar? road noise, response and such...
I just put about 1000 miles on mine and hands down I will not buy re-01r's again. Dry grip is on par if not better. Response of these tires is a whole new level compared to the re-01r. I went for a drive last week in the mountains and got rained on so I decided to give the tires a test of wet traction and THEY STICK!!! Very controllable tire when pushed to its limits. After saving 300 bucks on dunlops, bridgestone will have make a better tire or drop the price of re-01r's to earn my business again. Oh yes, and the road noise and comfort is considerably worse on the dunlops. Hasn't bothered me in any way though. I'll take the responsiveness over comfort any day of the week...

I've had my Z1's on for a couple weeks and couple hundred miles so far--no chance yet for an autocross or track-day. They feel like they have a ton of grip, around here I've not been able to really break them loose--and it's been that way right from the start. It's difficult to remember when the OEM RE 050's were this new in order to make a direct comparison, but it seems like the level of grip is at a higher level. Turn in is very crisp, they are quiet and have good compliance over small bumps (in fact, very good in that area). I've not driven them in the wet yet either.
Thus far I'm very happy with my decision vs. the RE 01R's, and frankly, according to the comparison test done by Tire Rack, any difference in handling and grip is too miniscule to register outside a measurable test.

How about those Direzza's for AP1 16"s? Can you grab one and check out the tread width for me? I have a suspicion that they are really wide.... Thank you!
