For anyone interested in this tire, the 215/45/R17s are in stock now (only 9 left), and the 255/40/R17s have an expected ETA of tomorrow.

There is also a $50 MIR on the purchase of 4 of these tires. I bought them based on TireRack's comparison of the original Direzza Sport Z1 versus the RE01R, Advan Neova AD07, and g-Force T/A KDs:

Compound has been re-formulated to provided more grip over a larger temperature range.

just got my star specs in today to replace my worn out re-01r's. will be mounting them in about an hour. when I get some miles on them i'll share my thoughts between the two.

I got my set but didnt mount them yet... anyone comment on wet grip as compare to RE01s or similar? road noise, response and such...
