Default Jim@tirerack-oem 245/50/16 SO2's???

Is there a OEM spec SO2 that is 245 wide and will fit on the stock rear 16"???
I have 10K miles on my stock SO2's, they have wear no bald spots but are not as sticky as they used to be.
I love the dry weather performance of the stock tires and haven't heard of any better tire for the S2K other than maybe drag radials ignoring tirewear (140). My question is:
I want wider tires in the rear but am not replacing the fronts until I decide on rims 17" vs 18" lightweight.
So I plan on just ordering 2 tires for now. What so2 do you recomend for the 16" that is wider than the 225 or should I stay with the stock spec if I am not increasing the width in the front to avoid any oversteer understeer problems. Thanks.

Stick with the oem 225/50/16's bud.

The 245/45/16's S02's are not as wide as the oem's.

Phantom is correct. Stay with the OE tires. They are about the same width as a 245/45R16 anyway.
If I can help let me know.

Thanks guys, would you recommend going wider than 245 then like maybe 255? or do you still think its just better to stay with the OEM 225/50/16? Ignoring tire wear is there any tire you would recommend over the OEM SO2's??

for street use, not really. stick with the OEM's. the OEM's are made for this car, thus, they only come in the 225 series, which is actually more like a 245. sure, you can squeeze a 275 on the rim in the rear, but only if a particular driving event necessitates it. otherwise, stick with the OEM sizes.
