Default Increasing tire size F & R on aftermarket wheels.

I currently run 17x7.5 +48 with a 225/45 and a 17x9 +55 with a 255/40. I track the car a lot and am getting close to needed new tires. I am leaning towards trying the Z1SS over the RE11s because of the price. I'm thinking of increasing the tire size to get a little more contact patch, but I'm not sure how this will react. Will there be more flex in the sidewall when cornering at high speeds do to the tire being a little bigger than standard for the rim width?

I'm thinking of going with the 235/45 and 265/40 setup. Will this be too big for my wheels?

235/45 is .4ins taller than a 225/45 which is 25ins. So nothing crazy there.

The 265/40 is also only .4ins taller than a 255/40 which is also 25ins.

Not too sure on sidewall flex with a 7.5, but I was running a staggered 235/45 255/40 setup on 9" wheels. Here is the front tire

I would not go any bigger on the tires. The 225/45R17 and 255/40R17 on the same diameter front and rear and the same as stock. They fit the wheels and don't rub.

I don't care about rubbing because I already rub and need a fender roll which will happen shortly. The 235/45 and 265/40 will fit the wheels... so no issues there either.

Anymore insight?

you should be alright, I am currently running 255/40s on a 17x8 and 275/40s on a 17x9 for grip wheels.
