Actually, I believe the SP-1's are the same regardless who sells them - Tirerack or Gruppe-S. The only difference between the two is that Gruppe-S offers finishes and fitments not offered by Tirerack (who only offers one size for S2000).
Speed Star Wheels are SSR's branch that makes CAST centers, but have forged and roll-formed rim sections. SP1 and D5Rs are the two wheels in this category.
SSR makes the fully forged rims (centers and rims sections), that include the GT3, GT1, Comp-H, Comp-C, GT10, GT7 and GT7H.

i personally know the person who bought SSRs entire stock of SP1's when they went bankrupt. he is selling them through tirerack, so yes, these are REAL SSR/SSW/whatever you want to call it. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME.
Speed Star Wheel is the parent company of Speed Star Wheel. Its similar to the RAYS/Volk Racing/Victrix/Versus/Gram Lights/ETC thing going on. Rays makes them all.
RAYS is similar to SSW
If you dont believe me, the persons name is Earl M. (dont wanna say the last name, but people who are in the industry know whats up with this guy)

Unfortunately Rays Wheels does not manufacture SSR's JDM SP1 wheels. To the best of my knowledge the forged outters as well as the cast inner is made in house in Japan. This is one of the primary reasons causing the collapse of SSR Japan - manufacturing costs getting out of control.
As for JDM / USDM wheels, they are inherently different for a variety of reasons, we shouldn't confuse the JDM wheels we are selling with Tire Rack's USDM wheels.
Cheers,
Gary
