I know it's only August, but winter will come...
Jim and Forum readers,
I have a MY "04 S2000 which I've owned for about six weeks. It has the stock tires and under 6000 miles. I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. I'll need to put winter tires on in December and remove them in mid March. I've heard a lot of good things about Blizzaks. Can you recommend a good set-up that will get me and the "S" safely through the winter season. I do not like driving in winter conditions, but this car is my daily driver. I need to start saving some $$$ now

If you can get a second set of rims, I'd get 16's (although I'm not sure about clearance issues with the AP2's). Reason: cost and better "cut-through" traction with narrower tires. Which means, narrower the tire, easier it will cut through the snow and make contact with the ground.
Blizzak's are great. I've personally used Nokians, which also did quite well, but others have commented on how well the Blizzak's have performed. So, in short, just get Blizzaks. Use common sense (don't floor it taking off or cruising). Watch for other cars coming up behind you and get ready to move forward if they're sliding right for you (I always leave room between the car in front and myself to either scoot up or swerve over to another lane/shoulder). Good luck.

Here is a link to our snow tire screen. Take a look here at the options and you can give me a call on the different options.

I had Dunlop Winter Sport M3 tires mounted on my 00 Volvo C70 HPT-M Coupe (Used Bridgestone Potenza S-03 in the nicer months). Found them to be an absolutely fantastic tire. It was great in the snow and ice (midwest winters) and even more surprising it was quite passable in the dry, definetely didn't think of it as a "snow tire" it felt more like an all-season in the dry.
Highly recommended. I have a set of Blizzak LM-22's ready to go on the S when the weather turns lousy, but I've never driven them, so I can't tell you how they are yet.
